Summertime and the Living is Easy, or, Back to the Cottage Life

A couple of weeks back I told you about cottage life and the terrible effect it has on my back and posture. Then last week I told you about how cottage life was messing with my resting heart rate.

The thing is, I love the place, and I’m perfectly willing to take the hit to my back and posture, and resting heart rate in order to enjoy it while it’s still in the family.

To that end, I’m headed up there for a week’s vacation. I expect to spend a lot of time in the sun, in the lake, fishing, making campfires and roasting marshmallows and generally relaxing with my family.

Knowing that the cottage is simultaneously terribly stressful on my body (as previously chronicled) and incredibly relaxing for my mind and soul, I look forward with fascination to learning the results of these competing forces.

Do I come home a wreck?

Do I come home rested and recharged?

History gives me a pretty strong indication one way or the other, but no spoilers. You’re just going to have to wait.

But don’t worry, our regularly scheduled programming will continue through the week.
