Your Morning Mood

Rush sang

And the magic music makes your morning mood.

It’s from Spirit of the Radio, if you’re interested. Anyway, they’re right. But it’s not the only thing that can make your mood.

I got home from hockey on Sunday a little tired. Well, I do typically burn 600 – 800 calories and run my heartrate up into the 170s, so I’ve got good reason to be a bit tired.

Anyway, I was taking a bit of a break when I heard my 1st and 3rd getting a little short with one another. This is unusual because they are generally the best of buddies.

Turns out they’ve been inside all day, and, well, little boys gotta move, and move a lot. The weather was pretty lousy, not cold enough for skating on the pond or tobogganing. A bit drizzly, so the swings and jungle gym at the park were out. But they’ve still gotta get out and move.

So we went for a walk.

No sooner had we exited the front door than the two of them are off and running, laughing like madmen, burning calories and playing like best buds.

It doesn’t take much to elevate your mood; just get up and move around. You’ll feel better for it, and so will everyone around you. Make a habit of it and you might just find your whole life gets better.
